Corporate Portrait

For my corporate photo I will be doing a male subject in formal attire. For this I will be using a plain black or white background with a light on it. I want my lighting to give a powerful feeling but I won’t be doing anything too complicated. I want the portrait to feel friendly but still show authority.

Group

For my group photo I will be taking photos of my brother and sister. There will be two people and it will be a nice sibling shot. so because of this i will be going for nice even lighting because it should show off the people in the photo and if there was some crazy light setup it could detract from the photo. Originally I wanted to get an interesting pose going but in the end I decided that it would be best if I just went for something simple and nice. I have looked through examples of brother and sister portraits but most of them are pretty poor so below are a few of the better ones.

Editorial Portrait

For my editorial portrait I will be doing a cover for GQ magazine which is a men’s magazine focusing on fashion, style and culture. The dress for this is smart casual. The people that usually appear on the front of this magazine are usually well known, influential men. So sports people, actors, politicians and those sorts of people. So the back story for this would be an interview with a person making it big in their industry wether its sport, the movies or politics.
So the background to this story is that he is a musician who has just released a new record and is getting a lot of hype about it, it is his first album and he is shocked it is so popular so I would like him to have like a shocked look on his face.

For this photo I will have one soft box pointing at the subject from front left with a silver reflector to get some light back on the other side of the face and I would have a light on the white background to separate the subject form the background.
